as far as living here as soon as you change your address to a WA addy you gotta change your rego on your ride as the rego is to be a 3rd party rego in WA no where your from,i believe it also is read as if your now residing in WA you have to re register the car ...your a sandgroper now !!!

When you get plates in WA you dont actually own them like you do in NSW and VIC.
There alot cheaper for custom plates here to.

Dont you own the NSW plates even though there not on a car ?
In WA if you sell the car the plates are still yours but the transport depo still hangs onto them until you get a new car.

you still own the plates in wa - in that you can legally sell them - but yes they have to be on a car or in their depot over here
As for bringing a car over. When I brought the S15 over it was simply a case of booking it into the pits when I got here - getting a compliance check - once the pits cleared the car and did an interstate check on it I was free to go down to the licensing centre and apply for WA plates which were issued on the spot and my licence was also updated at the time.
Here's the website for WA Licensing which has lots of handy hints, and from memory has a section on moving here: Licensing WA (http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/566.asp)
You can find out if the custom plates are available in WA by contacting them on this number: 1300 783 223

Alright thanks
I might chuck my plates in storage over here and then either just get standard ones or get some personalised one over there...
Thanks for the replies..
